System Admin

System admins oversee the entire platform across all schools, publishers, and regions. Their role is focused on platform governance rather than day-to-day school operations.

Capabilities

• Monitor schools — View registered school counts and platform-wide activity for oversight purposes
• View all programs — Browse publisher-submitted programs, courses, and materials
• Access AI Teacher — Use the AI-powered teaching assistant
• Browse resources — View subject books, assignments, and external practice materials

Dashboard

The admin dashboard shows the school registry homepage — a central overview of schools and platform activity.

What system admins can NOT do

System admins are intentionally limited to platform oversight. They do not:

• Add, configure, or manage individual schools
• Manage classes, lessons, or students directly
• Grade work or take attendance
• Send messages or create announcements
• View school-specific analytics or finances
• Manage subscriptions (delegated to school admins)

School Admin

School admins manage a single school. Four sub-roles determine access:

Sub-role	Focus
Administrator	Full control — manages everything
Principal	Academic oversight — curriculum, teachers, results
Vice Principal	Operations — discipline, events, day-to-day
Accountant	Finance — subscriptions, invoices, billing

Approval authority

Principals and authorised administrators can approve or reject membership requests from teachers and other school admins. When a new teacher, vice-principal, administrator, or accountant registers, their school membership starts as PENDING_SCHOOL_APPROVAL. They cannot access real school data until a principal or administrator approves the request.

• Approve staff memberships — Review and approve/reject teacher and admin access requests
• Manage staff and students — Add/remove teachers, students, and parents
• Create classes and subjects — Build the academic structure
• Configure academic calendar — Set term dates, holidays, and events
• Review analytics — Track attendance rates, grade averages, at-risk students
• Handle billing — Manage school subscriptions and payment methods

Dashboard

The school admin dashboard displays:

• School stats (teachers, students, classes, parents)
• Latest announcements
• Recent exam results summary
• Upcoming events and attendance snapshot
